Passwords gone mad

Cash really speaks loudly in the construction trades. Most of those guys are not taking a check or a credit card. (Trades, not contractors) No 1099s get passed around either.

Get RoboForm it takes the work out of remembering & generating p/w's. I have used it for years now.

That is why I ask for a cash discount from many places or just pay cash to small businesses for small items.

I wish there was a Publix around here. I would buy those gift cards up. Any affiliation card doesn't offer a 20% discount.

You hold your meeting the restroom?

Like a friend that had some work done by a one man company. The man told him it would cost $ 100 if by check or if he wanted a recipt but $

90 for just cash.

About 40 years ago I knew a man that worked on the CB radios out of his house in his spare time. All cash and nothing went to the government except some tax he had to pay to get some parts.

That's because you are bringing them money. If you wanted money they may not be as accommodating.

How do they treat you? Massages, bottle of wine, all the free pens you need? I think toasters are out of the list now...

That means you are not dealing with Comcast. They want a mobile number on every email account, no duplicates. They don't know how to reply when I tell them repeatedly I don't have a smart phone. They try texting my landline and when they text me and ask if I received it it's just so precious when I reply I told you I am calling from home and don't have a mobile phone.

They have moved into the mobile business and am surprised they don't try to sell me one, don't give them any ideas... When you call them they are trying to sell the latest boxing match, which holds as much interest to me as I have seen pugilistic events in real life and their results.

I was unfamiliar with Slack. I looked it up and see it's available from the Microsoft store. I would think they would redirect you to MS Team. IDK Remember MS is not an innovator, just buys up ideas and dismantles them.

I agree with you, but I don't have any expenses like that. I don't have a lawn guy, a cleaning lady, a pool boy, a night wench, anything like that. So far, we're able to keep everything up on our own. I did have a guy come and install eave lighting all around the house, but he wanted to be paid by Zelle. I talked him into using Venmo instead, but either way, my coke crusted paper money stayed in my wallet.

I wonder if the tellers, what's left of them, have noticed that their entire clientele consists of seniors who don't have, or don't know how to use, a smartphone.

When we moved to Texas in 2013, we opened a credit union account there. I'm not sure why but I think a realtor suggested it. We went to a branch to open that account, but we never went back over the next 6 years. Now that we've moved, we couldn't go to a branch if we wanted to. It's a long day's drive, each way, so fortunately for us that we have no reason to actually go to a physical bank location. Everything we need can be done online, much easier, much faster, and much more conveniently than waiting for banking hours.

I ask for a military discount when I remember to do so, and frequently get it, and in a few years I'll start asking for a senior discount.

At Lowes and HD, the 10% military discount is all but automatic, so that more than takes care of the tax, which is 7%.

Huh?

6'2 190 pounds do the math fatso.

Remembering my name and pulling up my account when I walk up to the counter works for me.

If it drags on and on I'll make sure I'm muted and walk down to take a leak. That's the best part of Zoom meetings. I do not have a webcam on the desktop so no problem with inappropriate actions.

Only one of our crew does use a cam. He has a guinea pig cage in the background and sometimes I zone out watching the pig while he rambles on.

Could be but there are plenty of us here.

If you want a couple thousand bucks in cash do they just send you the PDF and you print it yourself?

Supposedly they want us to move to Teams but haven't been pushing the issue. We use Atlassian's Jira for issue tracking which included HipChat. A couple of years ago Atlassian partnered with Slack and discontinued HipChat.
