We've all had ample opportunity to evaluate the probable IQ and educational level of those posters who regularly use "Lib" as a pejorative for "Liberal".
From the POV of this Independent, it's always a weakness to systematically bad-mouth anyone whose life philosophy threatens you.* It shows so glaringly --- but I guess that doesn't bother those who are comfortable within their belief system.
*OK, I'll cop to "Mad Dogs" for what was one of the two major American political parties -- now transformed into a support network for an international cabal of oil, banking, and production outsourcing. Yes, I am seriously threatened by them.Back to Subject:
I just ran across this quotation from a former President who'd probably qualify as an ueber-"Lib" in the belief system of certain posters:
=================
But if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people --their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal."
President John F Kennedy
