Would you please help me pick out a Kitchen Sink Strainer for my (thin) stainless steel kitchen sink.
I currently have a Jaclo Brass Duo Strainer for Kitchen Sinks Model Number: 2806-PCH installed in it.

That is only the strainer. I need what goes under it.

I have both, on the same sink. Sometimes I use one or the other.
Above the pipes, below the screen
How about this one ?
SS, no tools, drop in upper part, attach and tighten thumb screws underneath, attach drain line, done
It requires plumber's putty. Dang!
My tiny stainless steel sink experiences slight flexes and as the plumber's putty ages, the flexing cracks the plumber's putty and the sink starts to leak.
That is the problem with the Jaclo 2806-PCH, plus the chrome plating wears off and it looks like ...

What if you added a second gasket/washer under the flange, with no putty . You can buy them at any hardware store.
Maybe it is time for a new sink
I thought of that, but was not sure its would stay working correctly. Choice of materials and all that.

Looking at the installation doc, it seems to me they expect this to be a
2 person job. 1 to hold the underneath parts in place while other turns the screw from above !!If the screw/bolt is SS, corrosion should be no more a problem than the rest of the strainer.

Hmmmm. Maybe I install it on the end of the pipe and duct tape in place until it is screwed in from above.
Or enlisting the assistance of a friend, neighbor, handyman, etc. to hold it in place for a minute or so until you secure it from below?
But, But, that would ruin the new colorful words I would invent when it hit me in the head !!!
