It's been a known issue for a long time. Thousands of birds get killed by windmills.
Moreso in California, where many turbines are smaller and turn much faster.

It's not surprising, because the operating principles of american news outlets is to report as little bad or demoralizing news as possible. Because americans are children, and children are turned off by bad news, and bad news doesn't help to sell advertising.
All to often in the US, the truth hurts - and children have a low tolerance for pain.
Not true at all.
So-called "bad" news is reported all the time, as long as it fits in with the message that the publisher wants to deliver. These days, news is usually tailored to promote the Democrats' platform.
[Strange selection of newsgroups here though]
That's funny. Entirely at odds with reality, but still funny.
