Man tags own house

Fed up with anonymous complaints causing building inspectors to bother a man remodeling his house, the owner spray-painted the front of his house:

"To the ignorant neighbor who keeps calling the building inspectors... f#$% off..."

If the building inspectors had any sense they would tell the anonymous caller "If you have a complaint, please send a letter and sign it so that we can follow up with you and report the outcome" No written complaint should equal no inspection.

This guy isn't a student of human nature. Twenty bucks says he'll get more complaints now.

Maybe...

But if he invokes the "free speech" issue he could tie it up in court for quite a while and the city will want to know the identities of the people complaining, since going to bat in court over something is considerably more expensive than sending a building inspector out to double check on some work being done...

Didn't they used to refer to complainants like this as "Nosy Parkers" in the UK? Do they still use this term?

A close by commercial building owner got cited for insufficent progress on his building remodel.

So he spray painted the entire building hot pink:)

I felt bad for the guy. A nearby 42 inch water main broke, flooding his building, washing away piers, the building nearly structurally collapsed.

West view water authority disowned any responsiblity stating they had the main shut off within 40 minutes.

The water company claims since its a autority it cant be sued, and sadly has won in court many times:(

The building owner was self funding the rehap his buildings insurance wouldnt cover it either.

Then the towns building inspector goes nuts....

Well, ackshooly, the dictionary (American English) gives the first spelling as "nosy", with "nosey" an acceptable alternative.

However, I had no idea what the approved correct Limey spelling was in this case.

But that is to complicated. Consider the location of the story ;)

NosEy?

It's spelt with a capital E?

That's strange.
