Looking for feedback on Quadra-Fire wood burning insert. Model 2700i. Local dealer wants to clear showroom. Will sell for 1250.00 complete with fan and surround (not chiminy liner or installation). Is this a good deal? Any comments will be appreciated.

Don't have any specific knowledge of that brand but look for ceramic glass if it has glass. Much better than tempered glass. Used in the better gas inserts. Don't know about wood. Ceramic can hold up to 1200 degrees vs 500 for tempered.
