Yeah, right, like the pork is just a few small things that some media finds and focuses on. These bills are packed full of pork, it's like a sausage.

When I was in the communications tower business I had to deal with surveyors on a regular basis. Like any business there were good and bad. This was prior to the GPS. I had to lay out the plot for the guy anchors on this job. First couldn't get it to close, second couldn't the anchors in and third time was a charm as this was completely redone by a different crew and was the actual plot that was owned. I have no idea how the first two jabronies did it.

We had to put a tower over a limestone mine and have the tower and guy anchors drilled through the mine support columns that held the ceiling. I never figured out how they could translate the location of the columns to the surface. It was erected, I heard no concerns and still stands as far as I know.

It would be an interesting topic to find out how all this underground surveying is accomplished and translating it to the surface before and after GPS.
