any one know why my outlet would read hot both sides no neutral but also have 000 reading on volts?

Could you be more specific about where you're taking the readings? From one flat terminal to the other? From either flat terminal to the half round (ground) terminal? I take it something isn't working. What? Do you have something like a working lamp you could plug in to help troubleshoot the problem?

Is this in the US ? What kind of outlet, 120, 240 or what? Read hot from where to where ? Read 000 volts where to where ?
