In the past, I've read recommendations to use clear laquer over polished brass to preserve the brightness, but in my experience, it just doesn't do it for long. Does anyone here know of something better? Maybe someone who works for Kwikset, or another lock (doorknob) company--they certainly seem to have it solved.
