caring for cypress wood panels in house

cypress wood panelling in home library... home is 50 years old... is there any care or general maintenance that should be done to this wood? thank you KOS

Is there a finish on it? Is it oiled? Shellacked? Other than cleaning, not much needs to be done and cypress is very durable against the elements.
