I just replaced the primer bulb in a 2-stroke engine which says it's 50:1 oil mix but I have some that are 32:1 and 40:1 but if I can help it, I don't want to stock three different mixes.
If I choose one of those three (30:1, 40:1 & 50:1), how do I make an informed choice for any given two-stroke engine?
What's the advantage & disadvantage of the ratios?
Buy a good oil and can mix at 100:1

Depends on the clearances and bearings used in each engine manufacture. IMHO it would not be a sensible economy! Use SAE30 Mineral Oil. (Single weight not multigrade). If you like you can make up one mix and then adjust it for other motors my chart made many years ago reads:
