Boise Cascade Graylite, Insulate 6 brown fiber insulation board

House built in 1981. I removed dark paneling & this fiber board is underneath. Labeled as Boise Cascade Graylite, Insulate 6. Also says on it Insulation Board Division, conforms abpa 01 PS 57-73. Does it contain asbestos?

Not in 1981. If you are covering it again it would not matter anyway, covered it is no harm.

1. products used to make/renovate a home in 1981 might be old enough to contain asbestos.
2. leaving asbestos as-is is an option but if it's "discovered" and / or disturbed later during a reno or pre-sale it could be a much bigger problem - than now - when it's exposed.
