Amana Ice Maker

Nov 28, 2003 1 Replies

Hi.

The icemaker failed to make ice and then eventually there was a leak in rear of fridge. (I am assuming some gasket gave out)

Was thinking of replacing the icemaker, but not obvious if it detaches from internal hose easily.

Anyone removed one of these before? Did a search and appears a new one can be obtained for about 70 bucks.

Thanks Jim

Hello,

Split/cracked water line? Frozen fill spout/tube? Both could stop the icemaker from filling and cause a leak.

Usually the icemaker is screwed to the wall of the freezer and the icemaker just lifts off of the fill spout hose.....wires normally just unplug.
