A tasty bean soup with ham.

I thought some may enjoy thisIngredients1 (16 ounce) package dried navy beans7 cups water1 ham bone2 cups diced ham¼ cup minced onion½ teaspoon salt1 pinch ground black pepper1 bay leaf½ cup sliced carrots½ cup sliced celeryDirectionsRinse beans; transfer to a large stockpot and add water. Bring to aboil and simmer for 2 minutes; remove from heat, cover, and let standfor 1 hour.Add ham bone, diced ham, onion, salt, pepper, and bay leaf. Bring to aboil; reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer until beans are soft,about 1 hour and 15 minutes.Add carrots and celery; cook until tender, about 10 to 15 minutes.Remove ham bone from the pot and place on a cutting board until coolenough to handle. Remove any meat from the bones and cut intobite-sized pieces; stir into soup until warmed through.

I often compare apples and oranges and find that there's a clear colour difference.

That wouldn't have helped me. Or helped Bob F, who I think interpreted it backwards. For him and maybe me, they leaves open the question of which is better.
