Evaporator Fan Noise

Mar 19, 2007 4 Replies

Have a side by side GE refrigerator (GSH25JFRWW). It's about 2 years old. The evaporator fan in the freezer seems to be variable speed, when lots of cooling is needed it runs at full speed and makes very little noise. During normal cooling (just maintaining the temperature) the fan runs at about half speed and generates a high pitched noise. It has done this since it was new.

Is this normal??

A lot of people whine too because you posted in the wrong group and did no research

Doesnt sound normal. Sounds like your thermostat is bad. Have you replaced it yet? Bubba

Hmmm...wonder why am I not surprised...
