entire room odor caused by spilled bottle of goo b gone (2023 Update)

I don't see any other way but to thoroughly ventilate the room / space. Perhaps also remove the shelf, since it can have some of GooGone on it, and put it outside or in the garage for some time, until the smell is not so strong. On the bright side though, the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for GooGone does not list anything particularly toxic or dangerous (to inhale) :

An entire bottle of Goo B Gone tipped over and spilled out on a wood shelf under the basement steps. The adjoining room has accepted the odor and it is very, very strong. How to rid the room of the strong odor. I am looking for what to use, or a process to use if that is applicable instead. Thank you so much. I have many clothes in the room which are absorbing the odor as well. Thank you so much for your advice.

Ridding an entire room of a strong odor caused by a spilled bottle of Goo B Gone can be a difficult task, but there are several things you can try to help remove the odor. Here are some steps you can take:

  1. Ventilate the room: Open windows and doors to allow fresh air to circulate and help dissipate the odor. If possible, use a fan to help circulate the air.
  2. Clean the affected area: Use a mixture of water and white vinegar to clean the area where the Goo B Gone spilled. Scrub the area thoroughly, paying special attention to any porous surfaces such as wood. Be sure to wear gloves and eye protection when handling the vinegar solution.
  3. Use odor neutralizing products: Baking soda, activated charcoal, and white vinegar can help neutralize odors. Place bowls of baking soda or activated charcoal around the room to absorb the odor. You can also mist the area with a solution of water and white vinegar.
  4. Clean clothes and textiles: If the clothes in the room have absorbed the odor, you'll need to clean them. First, try hanging them outside in the fresh air to let the odor dissipate. If the odor persists, you can try washing them in a solution of water and white vinegar, or using a specialized odor eliminator like OdorXit Concentrate.
  5. Professional cleaning service: If the odor persists after trying the above methods, you may need to hire a professional cleaning service to help remove the odor. They will have specialized equipment and products that can help remove the odor.

It's important to note that it may take multiple attempts using different methods to completely remove the odor. Be patient and persistent, and most importantly, make sure to keep the area well-ventilated.
