Wots these flying things? (look like ants, act like flies, very small.)

They look like they have only two wings. (Ants and wasps would have four wings.)

So, probably flies, maybe in the family Sciaridae (dark-winged fungus gnats).

Hard to tell but my guess is a fruit fly or a hover fly. BUT a pure guess.
