I want to get rid of a boxelder tree without the cost of having it cut down. Is there anything to kill the tree?

How can I kill a boxelder tree without cutting it down?

You'd have to use an herbicide, and a strong one as Boxelder is very difficult to kill. Then what, you have a dead tree sitting there rotting which is going to have to be taken car of at some point. Find a friend with a chainsaw or rent one, then grind, salt, burn, or herbicide the stump.
