strawberries

finally had enough of a crop to put up some freezer jam. had to try a new recipe because Mom bought the wrong kind of pectin. i've not had a decent enough crop for a few years to do much jam making. long day but got it done.

i'm calling it $100 jam because that is about how much i'd charge if i were selling it. not that many jars and a lot of work. price in terms of actual costs of materials might be $0.60 - $1.00 per pint. have to find room in the freezer this evening.

on to bean planting...

My beans are all up now , and they're starting to run . It appears they like the cage trellises I'm using this year - and I've got 3/4 the number of plants as last year in about 1/3 the space .
