What shows are worth having/buying/

Hi all

I am hoping you might be able to give me some guidance. I am hoping to assemble a decent library of high quality programs, similar to a bunch I recorded when we had PAY-TV. I note there is a range for sale through eBay but I am not familiar with them and many seem to get no bids even though they have low starting prices. This leads me to think there may be some real crap programs out there and as we get enough bad ones here, I don't want to add to them.

I am particularly interested in This Old House and New Yankee Workshop style programs (USA I know) - I am just in the process of transferring the ones I got onto DVD now - it is time consuming but worth it. For the record, we in Australia have two pay-TV providers and neither broadcast the aforementioned shows any longer, with no plans to purchase further seasons at this stage. This is why we cancelled our subscription.

My main interest lies in Period Style interiors and exteriors, but any shows that display decent detail and workmanship are of interest. Finally, if folks have VHS footage of TOH or NYW that I don't currently have, I would love to hear from you. I would be willing to transfer them for you and return to you a fully edited set on DVD.

Note: These are all for private use only.

Shows I currently have include:

TOH Manchester on Sea, Winchester, Billerica, Boston Brownstone, Santa Barbara, Bermuda NYW 51 episodes from 98 - 02 Real Wrecks - various shows House That John Rebuilt and a few others

DVDs I have seen available on eBay include: Kitchen By You Step by Step Solutions: Kitchen (I imagine there is a series) Linda Barker Kitchen Solutions (may be the same as above) Kitchen Remodelling - Cabinets DIY

......anyway, I am sure you get the idea - I have no idea if they are worthwhile or not, so any help would be much appreciated

thanks

Steve
