Plumbing Noise

Sep 03, 2006 1 Replies

When our downstairs toilet gets flushed, it quite often sounds like a fog horn for a few seconds. The upstairs toilet, shower, bath etc do make any such noises.

Can anyone give me any idea what may cause this, and how to rectify it?

thanks Martin

Replacing the washer in the toilet inlet should cure it. For some reason as they age, they start to act like a reed in a wind instrument.

Turning the water pressure down to the toilet may also cure it for a while.
