A farmer in England built a castle like home without a permit on his farm, and waited out the 4 year statute of limitations on complaints before removing the giant hay bale stack that sheltered the view from the bureaucrats and the NIMBY's.

Terribly ingenious, but city hall does not like to be fooled. It would be a shame to tear it down.

One must keep in mind that this was in England (UK, GB, whatever one want's to call it) which is very much not the land of the free.

I'm surprised that anyone said anything: can you imagine admitting that a building was built four years ago, and you 'just noticed?'
