I converted a 110 volt fan to a 12 volt fan and now it runs backward. Could it be wired wrong?

12V fans, and 12V electrical motors in general, are usually DC (direct current) and therefore can run backwards if voltage is reversed. If the motors allows for reverse that is. It's either that or the fan blades are put on wrong way. Not much info to go on, sorry. Please provide more detail.
