machine cycles through the programmes ok - ie fills empties and pumps but the drum doesn't rotate do effectively doesn't wash or spin dry. I have the back cover off, the top cover off and have checked/cleaned the front left filter etc. nothing obvious anywhere, no blockages to see, belt is in place, motor spindle turns and the belt wheel drum dive rotates easily enough by hand. is there a fuse for the motor I cant see? no signs of overheat/ burn etc it all looks really clean and fine inside. the rinse hold is not activated. Help please!

Greetings, homeowner! I understand that your AEG Oko Lavamat 61300 washing machine isn't rotating its drum, despite cycling through the programmes properly. No need to worry - we'll figure out what's going on and get your machine back to working order in no time.

First, let me remind you that attempting to fix the issue yourself comes with some pros and cons. On the one hand, you can save money on repair costs and gain the satisfaction of fixing the problem on your own. On the other hand, if you don't have the necessary skills or tools, you may end up causing more damage to your appliance, resulting in costlier repairs down the road.

Assuming you've got some DIY experience, here's what you can do to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Check the Motor Fuse: Your washing machine may have a fuse that controls the motor, which could be the cause of the no drum rotation issue. Check your user manual to see if your machine has a motor fuse and where it's located.
  2. Test the Motor: Use a multimeter to test the motor's windings for continuity. If there's no continuity, the motor may be faulty and need to be replaced.
  3. Inspect the Carbon Brushes: If your washing machine has carbon brushes, check them for wear and tear. If they're worn down, they won't make proper contact with the motor and the drum won't rotate. Replace the carbon brushes if necessary.
  4. Check the Belt Tension: Make sure the belt that connects the motor to the drum is properly tensioned. If it's loose, the motor won't be able to rotate the drum.

If none of these steps solve the issue, it may be time to call in a professional. Here are the tools you'll need for the above steps:

  • Multimeter
  • Replacement Carbon Brushes (if applicable)

Before you start any repairs, make sure to consult your washing machine's user manual and turn off the power supply to the machine.

With these steps, you should be able to get to the bottom of the no drum rotation issue and get your AEG Oko Lavamat 61300 washing machine back to its cleaning and spinning duties. Good luck!

So there you have it - the steps to troubleshoot and revive your AEG Oko Lavamat 61300 washing machine. Happy repairing!
