remove varnish from glass

Has anyone any ideas onhow to remove varnish from glass?

...AND A LITTLE WINDEX.

i've scratched the glass in expensive doors trying to do it dry. use a little soap - just a little windex does well. don't hesitate to change blades often to ensure they are sharp and new.
