I'm not sure they even make sellotape in 30cm wide rolls. What length do you need?

They do! In fact they make it several feet wide, then slice it down. Ask them nicely and they'll make almost any width you want.

Somewhere I've still got a roll of 9" Sellotape (this would be more use if it was masking tape adhesive and less sticky). I certainly have a 2' diameter roll of 3" that was 2' diameter when I acquired it years ago and still doesn't look any smaller, despite getting used for everything from bundling tape to rat traps.

You could always do it the original way and make your own. Cut strip of clingfilm / sandwich bag / binbag / polythene etc, and brush on choice of adhesive. Cue a big mess and lot of wasted time.
