Did you know that patio door glass continues to snap, crackle and pop for ages after a falling ladder breaks it, if you can hear it above the swearing that is.
Windy, yesterday, wasn't it?

Heh, I got a new set of ladders the other day. They scare me as they're much mch lighter than my other set. The new ones are some 2m triples, light trade and my others are 3.2m triples heavy duty class
I've never had any ladders fall over though. ;)
Ooh - bummer.
In a similar vein, I remember once having a double-glazed unit installed incorrectly, and after the fitter had left , a tiny little crack appeared at one side, about half way down. Took about a week to propagate gradually accross to the centre (at which point the unit was changed)

You can also hear the bang of a glass patio door shattering over the noise of a petrol mower from 20 yards away.
Must remember to remove ALL stones from the lawn before mowing.
Imagine a spider's web of cracks radiating out from the point of impact. Each snap, crackle and pop was a new tiny crack connecting the radials. This continued long after the glass was shovelled into a rubble sack and transported to the recycling centre.

My mate just did that one, with a strimmer though. Managed to put the conservatory door through from 30 yards away.
Sure that's not the "Slow motion" effect ?? :-(

Some years ago (back in days of toughened glass windscreens), my father was driving home from work. It was the last journey in that car as it was to be sold the next morning. A large stone flew up and hit the screen hard. Damn lucky, my father thought, as the windscreen didn't shatter. Next morning when he opened the garage door to take the buyer in, he found the windscreen had shattered overnight ;-)
