What's the best way to repair a broken housebrick? Have one in the corner of a wall that's snapped in two (it's a long story), but it's obstructed at both the side and the front so simply chipping it out and replacing isn't feasible.
My main concern is spalling: it shows no signs at present, but I understand that facing it with cement (as can be done to frost damaged bricks) simply acts as a sponge to soak up moisture and cause further frost shattering. Is it feasible to use something like silicone or gripfix to stick it back together, silicone to waterproof it, and then cement facing (if it'll stick!)? I'm not convinced that'll work. The other thing to do is make sure there isn't water ingress into the wall cavity.
Is there something cement-like that won't absorb water? If it can be made to tone with the existing brick colours so much the better.
