OT Clarkson. You couldn't make it up!

While I agree with your analysis of socialists, wasn't the infamous

8-page pullout article about San Serife in the Grauniad of 1/4/1975 ??

Yes, I've been following the Eye reports. The comment that Telegraph journalists had to find out what was happening to their own paper from Private Eye was amusing.

Socialist? Guardian? Not sure about that.

It started off in Manchester supporting Liberal measures in favour of Free Trade and the repeal of the Corn Laws which suited industrial towns, as against the farmers who supported by Tories who wanted to maintain high prices and protected trade..

Its always been liberal supporting free trade, free speech generally an absence of regulation, and a universal franchise, in the belief that these measures on their own would bring about equality.

Socialists on the other hand that equality of opportunity, wealth, whatever can only be attained via Goverment intervention both by laws, regulation and by progressive taxation. And that once equalty has been attained the other things that Liberals worry so much about will all take care of themselves.

I'd imagine that a lot of this will go straight over the top of your head Huge. But then if nobody ever tries to explain these things to you, then you'll die in just as great a state of profound ignorance in these matters, as you were seemingly born with.

Which would be truly tragic.

Well I could try and make it simpler for you, if you insist.

Would you like me to weed out all the long words for you ?

As obviously pictures, which you're probably more used to are out of the question.

Oh dear Tim, am I going to be banned from Usenet, if I don't do exactly what you say ?

See what I've done there ? I've snipped all the rest of your post which you took so much trouble over.

Is there a rule against doing that too ?

Oh and by the way Tim, assuming you're posting in the UK your clock appears to be running at least 30 minutes fast. And has been doing so for days

Even if we accept your analysis, then you'll need to explain why the Grauniad is now the house newspaper of the Labour party.

And by the way, you don't need to hit the Return key a number of times when you've finished your post. What you are using is *not* a typewriter, and multiple returns will not cause a sheet of paper to scroll up out of the top of your display. A proper .sig delimiter would help, too.

Just full of whingers who like to moan about problems but never have any solutions, They backed GB for PM then were stabbing him in the back within 3 months, but never once acknowledged their mistake in backing him in the first place.

Except that today it supports none of those things.

Nope. I'm posting here at 23:26 and some seconds.

Nope. Didn't touch the computers, they all change by themselves, along with the CH timer and my radio controlled clock.

Lessee now:

System Preferences -> Date & Time -> Time Zone pane -> Time zone: British Summer Time

Could be Thoth not doing it right, I suppose.

Interestingly, /etc/localtime is still a soft link to /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/London so I'm not sure how that is supposed to work.

Are you saying you consider the present day Labour party true socialist?

That's a GMT date, but you posted it at 23:26 BST.

Have you changed your clock rather than letting the time zone do it for you?

Liberals don't support these things nowadays. Or haven't you noticed?

It was just a precursor to the labour party.
