For the same reason the west was when they were into burning each other at the stake , hang drawn and quartering, blown away from the guns, broken on the wheel, keel hauling etc etc etc.
Kids were allowed at public executions in Britain.

Good grief. Yes they were acting in a primitive way several centuries ago but they didn't have the example of the rest of the world to demonstrate that you can move on.

it's a terrible shame, because 10 centuries ago, before this pernicious, poisonous religion ruined things for the region, the Arabic world was preeminent in so many fields they really left the rest of us miles behind, especially in the sciences.
