IIRC I read somewhere that Ferranti used 10,000 volt supplies for lighting in the very early days. I'll bet that put a strain on the insulation

If the instances I know of had been installed by specialist contractors the c*ck-ups the "builder" made by doing his own works would arguably not have happened! The customer as usual thought the job must be right as the builder said it was (until enlightened that is)

Well, for what it's worth, I don't believe that anyone would install two Combi boilers in a domestic house, that alone doesn't mean people haven't though.

Next door - owned by a bit of a bodger - had effectively this. He replaced his storage system with a combi, and his wife complained so bitterly about the time it took to fill a bath he added a multi-point - in the bathroom. Which still doesn't fill the bath as quickly as before, but it doesn't worry him. He's dead.

Of course, they had a normal sized bath and lived in the real world - not yours of tiny baths and unrealistic flow rates.

I'm assuming by the numerous replies that he should not have used lighting (I think 1.5mm) wiring but that it probably won't create a problem if fused correctly.

As it has been noticed before completion it will be changed.
