Hotpoint Aquarius DWF32N Dishwasher

This machine has served us well for the last ten years but has now developed a fault.

When you start it the display reads 88 minutes, and all is well until about 40 minutes when it suddenly goes to 0 and the machine stops. So it never completes the cycle and leaves the contents dirty.

I suspect it is the control module which is faulty, in which case it's probably a write off, but is there anything else that could cause this?

Isolated the mains, turned off the water and removed the control panel to identify the control module.

In the process unplugged all the connections to the control module.

After reassembly ran the usual eco 50deg programme and this time it worked correctly.

Maybe one of the contacts on the edge connector to the control module pcb wasn't making proper contact. The contacts are gold plated but not on the side you plug in. Have seen this before with edge connectors in PCs.

We shall see.
