The drawers in my large and slightly antique chest of drawers have become very difficult to open. Some of them appear to have expanded, and are wedged against the sides.
What is the best way of allowing them to move more freely?

If they have expanded, sand them down, but if not too bad just rub an ordinary cake of soap on the bearing surfaces every now and then.
Change them more frequently and use a decent detergent.
Silicone spray.
Angle grinder.
I have always used candle wax as a lubricant for wooden drawers.

Candle wax?
Brian
Do people use french chalk for this or is that only on Poirot?
Paul DS.
That will make the timbers expand even more, surprised you didn't say WD40. B-)
As others have said candle wax, not an instant cure but gets better over a few days from application. Inspect the surfaces and if they really are binding sand a bit off then apply candle wax.
