IKEA chest of drawers

Hi

I have 2 small chests of drawers which may be a previous version of the current BRIMNES line here:

Can't figure out how to remove the drawers!

The runners are mounted roughly halfway up the outside of the drawer, rather than the current bottom-mounted tilt-and-insert kind

Help appreciated ...

Our ones like that (not Ikea) have little screws with the heads inside the drawer, usually rather inaccessible unless you completely empty the drawer.

Alternatively there may be a nasty little springy bit of metal that you have to fish around and hold down in the guts of the runners on

*both* sides.

Three options;

Pull drawer forward and lift front. Small white plastic thingy under drawer, turn 90 and lift front. Most likely; Small screw inside of drawer sides, remove & drawer slides forward.

I have met some where you pull the drawer out then swivel it so the front goes down and the back up to release it from the runners.

The pdf assembly instructions are on the page you reference. Page 28 shows tiliting to insert draw - reverse?

Quite so. I have a similar drawer mechanism.

Pull the drawer fully out, lift the front edge, which takes the front roller out of the track. You can now pull out further and disengage the rear roller.

I would have thought so. Never has a problem with Ikea stuff.

One thing I did notice, and haven't seen before, is the widget to hold the nails before/whilst hammering them in.

In the past I have used pliers to save thumbs with very small nails!

I use a pin pusher...cheap and saves the thumbs! Always have it in the toolbox.

The chest of drawers is an older version - the runners are not of the type shown in the current instructions ...

Thanks Dave - your last suggestion worked! (Small screw inside of drawer sides, remove & drawer slides forward)

Thanks also to all who replied
