I need some help with electrical connections for a B&D model 8018 mower (the orange "flip-handle" mower). For the first time I have a lawn to tend and I retrieved this old mower from my neighbors junk pile. He said it just quit working--no wonder, upon opening it I found the magnets in the ring had broken apart. Not thinking it was worth fixing I just pulled the wire connections off. I then found a magnet ring for a good price. My problem is re-connectiing the three wires which come in (red, wht, org), to the rectifier and brushes. The rectifier has four terminals, two one side marked +, two on other -; the brush connections I think are right but they too need to plug into the rectifier. Does anyone have one of these mowers and could help me out? The plastic cover comes off easily and the wiring would be visible. I don't know the age of the mower. I would sure appreciate any help!
