It's as if they cant read English or they have the computer pick a key word

Many companies do in fact have email programs that contain dozens of form letter type standard replies to customer inquiries. The customer circus reps thereby don't even have to engage in any thought or reasoning or even really try to solve the problem. The customer gets a one-size-fits-all email that the company HOPES will solve the problem, or at least keep the customer off the phones (which cost rather more money to operate).
