Woodcarving in Northern Virginia

Aug 17, 2006 1 Replies

This coming Sunday is the last day for free woodcarving lessons this season at Colvin Mill Run Park. The Northern Virginia Carvers does this

on first and third Sundays of the month during the summer.

The park is about 7 miles west of Tysons towards Leesburg. Just follow the signs when you get there. It goes from noon to 4 pm

Kids 6-12 make small carvings with rasp, files, and sandpaper --- They furnish knives for adults . They sell the basswood carving blanks for a nominal amount, Fun for everyone.

Thanks for the heads up! I wish it were closer.
