Stripping birch cabinets - Ready Strip

Oct 31, 2003 0 Replies

I just started stripping our kitchen cabinets. They've got about 6 coats of various kinds of paint on 'em...birch at the very bottom.

Everything's kinda goin' real good. The Ready Strip...from QVC...pretty much does as they advertise. I'm pretty much impressed.

But I had to put on 2 coats for this first segment of the total job. I was wondering if anybody out there has any real-time experience with this product.

And I'm wondering about the final wash. It says that the product doesn't need to be neutralized...but they do give you a wash to use after the final application. It says you can use plain water for this...and I think that's what this wash they supply pretty much is.

I'm gonna sand after all this...and probably go with tung oil. But there won't be much sanding. There's pretty much BARE wood showing!

Have a nice week...
