More likely the power cord. They usually break just where they enter the appliance - sometimes at the plug if you pulled it out by the cord.

console televisions make nice stands for TVs that still work.
Ran into that in a motel in 1971, three TV's, one for picture(B&W), one for sound and one for lousy picture and terrible sound for when one or the other of the first two failed completely. Gerry :-)} London, Canada
