OOOHHH!!!!!!!! Look at the shiny ball. Let's all chase it.

All of you have fallen for the media diversion of focusing attention on JTP. Why should any American have to suffer an anal probe just for asking a question. Not licensed? Are you the same people who don't care about illegal aliens. I'd be willing to bet an illegal wouldn't get a second look.

Why has the media not shown so much interest with the Ayers connection? Where is the anger and microscopic attention toward Charlie Rangel and his tax problems. Seems to me a sitting congressman should get a little more attention.

Where is the call for an investigation of the house banking committee and their roll in this meltdown that we have to pay for. And all the while collecting payoffs and sweetheart mortgage deals for themselves. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd must go. Remember the phrase "the seriousness of the charges demand an investigation"?

It's the ANSWER to the question that should be troubling. He wants to take a higher percentage of my and your hard earned money as a punishment for succeeding. And I'm supposed to work harder why??

I have to pay so "someone else can have a chance at success" ??? Just living here is your best chance. Plenty of legal immigrants have done very well in a short time by working hard. I know that sounds so mean, but it's true. And inspiring.

Does socialism not scare you a little? It should because it always leads to communism. And these tactics of attacking the messenger are very familiar to those who have had the pleasure of living in a communist country.

I think you are missing the point. In this country the spread between poor and rich has been increasing, in part because politicians "need" to be reelected and therefore cater to the highest bidder. The results have been tax breaks for the rich. This will have to be reversed so that not-so- wealthy people can better partake of the American way - which is supposed to be work hard and enjoy the rewards. Therefore the tax burden has to be somewhat rearranged. Wherever you are going to make the dividing line, some people are going to complain, some loudly enough to get the attention of politicians.

I think the best way to tax is to write new tax law eliminating 10 pages for every new page written. Get rid of loopholes and special considerations!

With a $2200 campaign contribution limit apparently the politicians can be bought rather cheaply.

Chinese imports(Clinton gave them "most favored trade" status) other cheap imports and both a flood of legal and illegal immigrants have hammered lower tier wages......not tax rates. The bottom tier income wise do not pay any income tax and the top 20% pay something around 80% of all taxes.....each year for quite some time both state and federal budgets have increased far above inflation rates thus leading to the current federal and state budgetary crisis.....

The results have been tax breaks for the rich. This will

Which tax breaks and loop holes have caused this demographic change? People always talk about these great tax deals but won't ever tell me what they are. When I ran a small business for 25 years I sure never found them.

You do know that the infamous Bush tax cut for the rich was 3% or dropped from 37% to 34%. At current rates with various state taxes its often crowding 45-50%.....Is there any particular number ethically or morally more correct that it should be?

I agree here on regulation and special considerations and probably would agree on loopholes if I knew what they were.....Rod

Actually Han, your missing the point. All Joe did was ask a question and Obama's t.v. station pounced on him. Why would anyone want a new tax, let alone one that gets put into a bank account and then spent for what ever this guy sees fit? I already pay welfare, for people who don't work, housing for people who can't afford it, food stamps for people who can't afford to eat, pre-school for people who have kids, retirement for people who forgot to save and even people who are too stupid to say no to mortgage to big for their paychecks to cover. Here in Illinois, I pay for insurance for kids I don't have, bus and train rides for people to tour around town on a train and bus I don't use, a governor to go to work every day in a private jet, and a senator who refuses to be a senator, but he wants to tax me more money to pay for what? In that case you might not like some of the recipes from Nobel laureate economist Joseph Stiglitz for battling the crisis, but on the bright side, you might like a few of his recommendations:

Hmmm. Why is it ok for the press to dig up everything about JTP and yet be called 'stalkers' when digging up the dirt on that family the Democrats were using to promote SCHIP.

Stinks of a double standard....

I think it is time that Snopes asks Mc Cain the following questions:

Is it true that you finished 894th out of 899 at the Naval Academy, the absolute bottom of your class?

Is it true that because of your family connections, you were admitted into the flight training program over much more qualified candidates?

Is it true that in flight school, your grades were very poor (according to your instructor)?

Is it true that your first wife, while you were a POW, fought to make sure that you came home and you rewarded this loyalty by divorcing her immediately after your return?

What faults do you have robatoy? Are you a Saint? Don't judge unless you be judged!!! Truman didn't have a degree and only finished his sophomore year in high school and was a great President.

Neither I, nor my peers claim that I am a saint. THAT is the difference which renders your snipe worthless.

I just read an interesting observation that business was booming at twice the normal level during the Republican convention......at local gay bars. Makes sense, looking at the way they dress, fascists are so gay.

You're right, it was fair of Michelle Malkin to do a little investigation into the example family that the Democrats trotted out to defend the SCHIP legislation, just as it's fair to investigate Joe the Plumber that McCain is trotting out to slam Obama's ideas for tax law changes. A little vetting would serve all sides well.

What mystifies me is how much umbrage the Right is taking at a little bit of investigation into people, using publicly-available information, and are either silent about or completely supportive of the Federal Government's illegal spying into every aspect of our personal lives, the most recent egregious example being the NSA eavesdropping into the most intimate personal phone calls between our U.S. soldiers in Iraq and their wives. Why aren't you crazy angry that the government is listening to your phone calls and reading your email?
