First, you change his name. Then, you enroll him in Starfleet. Make sure he's busy with things like the kobayashi maru tests, so he has no time to send spam. When the time comes, you send him on a Deep Space assignment, to "seek out new worlds and new civilizations" and boldly split infinitives.
A tribble is actually the cute and cuddly manifestation of a cross between a computer virus and spam bot.
Or since you're using Google Groups, you could just pay for NNTP access, use a real newsreader that does filtering and solve the problem that way.
