homemade power feed

so I scored a couple of motors last night. I haven't tested them yet, but what they are appears to be a DC motor with an integrated gear reduction mounted to a solid rubber tire about 12 or 14 inches in diameter. they came from a defunct wheelchair. they shared a common control unit and were fed by what looked to be 2 deep cycle automotive type batteries. there's nothing on the nameplates to indicate voltage, but I bet they're either 12 or 24 volt....

so they seem like good candidates for power feeder motors for the table saw, router table, mebbe the bandsaw....

anybody done anything like this and have links, pointers, advice?

thanks, Bridger
