Clear Coating QUESTION

Ive seen photos on wood covered with a clear protective coating of some sort...the coating looks to be kinda thick but clear.....anyone know what im talking about. Thanks..Dan



Try this product called Behlen's Rockhard table top varnish

I believe you are talking about a two part epoxy. You can find it in the Lowes, Home Depot. Look by the varnishes. It comes in a large 1/2 gallon jug with a smaller catalyst. It costs about $30, just make sure you have enough when you start!

The stuff looks like 100 coates of high gloss varnish was applied.

Is that the stuff they put on some restaurant tables that looks like it's about a quarter-inch thick?

In the current issue of Wood magazine there is an article on this type of finish using a 2 part epoxy.
