U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and BatteriesPlus have recalled an assortment of replacement Ni-Cd battery packs made for Black and Decker, Bosch, DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Panasonic, Ryobi, and Skil tools.

The recall involves Rayovac-brand replacement batteries made in China and sold by BatteriesPlus between June 2008 and October 2010. Apparently there's a risk of explosion with the battery packs, and the CPSC and BatteriesPlus recommend that users stop using the packs immediately. Packs affected range from 2.4v to 18v models, in various configurations. The recall affects about 111,800 batteries.

Hope this benefits someone, Marc
