You know the edging strips that you glue onto the sawn ends of kitchen/bathrrom chipboard worktops. What sort of glue is recommended? No more nails? Ta.

Impact adhesive. Make sure the room is well ventilated - it stinks!
The only stuff I ever bought was iron-on. Was that bad? It lasted at least six years (ie., until I moved house).
Ta. PVA the cut end first, or will the impact adhesive produce a watertight seal?
Some of those "no more nails" type adhesives seem to be impact adhesive in a tube; at least it looks very similar (smells same; brown colour; instructions to wait until tacky and push together). I also have used white stuff that looked like sludgy PVA (called liquid nails or something).
Well they're certainly high grab, but impact adhesive is what the worktop manufacturers say should be used. There seems little point in risking something else.
Actually I meant contact adhesive (oops!)
I didn't use any PVA or silicon on the joints - I used plenty of adhesive and then when dry finished off the join with an appropriately coloured worktop joint filler.
Screwfix do various colours of kitchen worktop glue to match the surface.
