Worcester Bosch DT20RF or DT10RF

My boiler installer is very reluctant to install the DT10RF optimiser in my new system and I cannot work out why . All he says is we have had problems and he really can't add any more.

There are no wires so i would have thought the actual installation was the same.

Does anyone have any clues ? Does the unit have problems with tuning or adjusment ? is it unreliable ? .Do you need a better skill set to install it. Can it be retro fitted ?

I would appreciate informed opinion.

Many thanks

Chris

He can't figure it out being a bathroom changing plumber. Go for heating engineers.

My DT10RF failed after ~3 years, the rf link started playing up. T'was replaced under warranty although the new one sometimes produces a red led link error but hasn't actually failed. It's only about 2 to 3 mtrs from the boiler also (with new batteries).

In my old house, I chose the DT10RF. The installer had no concerns about installing it.

True. One part fits to the front of the boiler, the other part fits to the wall and they talk over a wireless link.

It hasn't had a problem in ~2 years.

No.

No.

I hope so. I've recently moved and miss the flexibility of the DT10RF, so I'll probably change to it. Julian

Not all Bosch boilers can have those controls fitted - as I've recently found out the Ri series won't take them.

Is that the problem?
