Wooden bosses for handrails - who sells 'em ?

I need to replace some old circular wooden bosses that the handrail for the stairs are attached to, but i'm having trouble finding anywhere that sells them.

I've tried a multitude of searches along the lines of "handrail wood boss" but drawn a bit of a blank :-}

Are they known as something else perchance ?

Look for newel caps.

Google using 'staircase parts' as keywords

Indeed One definition. You'll also find the term used for plates for fixing things to walls.

I had to hunt a bit to get a stair reference but found one here

"Photos p12-1 + 12-3 This design of spiral staircase has a stepped bobbin, plain balusters and a flush finish on the under side of the tread. It also has a pattress on the landing balustrade where it joins the wall unlike most which have a ½ newel post."
