I'd like internal window shutters in our 'new' house. It's stone with thick walls and the existing replacement uPVC windows are recessed by about a foot. Looking at what's available, made to measure, it seems easy if the recesses are parallel ie plan view.. ####|___|#### with # being the wall and the window at the bottom. But these are.. ####\___/####.
I imagine I could fit a made to measure shutter frame a couple of inches out from the window. Screwing it to the side walls would be tricky because of the chamfer and the uncertainty of what's under the plaster. So maybe I could use some low expansion foam/glue instead. The frame would be resting on the cill so shouldn't be hard to hold in place while the foam sets.
This is the sort of thing available..
Hillary's are coming to look, but I suspect their prices are astronomical. It might be useful to pick their brains.
