Hi All
Please see this image:
It has a couple of inspection chambers that I suppose helps this drain run into the main system. These too were mostly clear, but then I found some inserts / an inner tube sitting in the centre. This tube blocks the majority of the flow, causing water to just slowly trickle away.
Now this tube may be good at keeping leaves out the main drain, but it's causing water to build up and enter the garage when it cannot clear fast enough!
Is it safe to remove this insert / tube? All I can imagine the consequence being is that leaves and debris could easily enter the main drain. But as long as it isn't huge debris that'll cause a blockage, then surely this is no major issue and will flow away?
In the picture, you can see the red lines/arrows showing the water flow (top of image is where the long drain runs in front of garage). The yellow is the tube sat inside. You can see inside the drain, the pipe from the garage drain. With the tube (yellow), water just can't flow through quickly enough through it.
Advice welcome and appreciated.
Cheers
