says it lasts about 2 years in 'I'm here' mode (dim always on LED), one click gives you enough light to see by and another click, something that can blind at 20 paces!

If you really want to miff the Mrs off a VERY powerful slow speed 'strobe' that again, is so bright it hurts (Oh the fun we have ... ).

It may have batteries in it. Wife was very pleased with her wind-up torch - always seemed to work off a minimal amount of winding. Then it stopped giving nearly so much light - the secret internal battery which had been powering it all that time had gone flat.
